This chute lock cable is an authentic Arlens replacement part. It is designed for compatibility with over one hundred models of snowblowers. This chute lock cable is an assembly of parts guaranteed to get the job done. It should be replaced if it is torn or damaged. Please note the extension spring is not included (part 08310900).

The chute would not lock

Followed instructions:
1. Remove cover on top of the chute post.
2. Zip tie the chute to the post.
3. Disconnect chute cable.
4. Remove old parts.
5. Install new parts.
6. Adjust cables

Tension spring was the hardest part to reinstall. Two people wouldn\'t have a problem.

careful check of existing cable routing and chute swing parts, couple open end wrenches to set clearances and back to snow throwing, easy fix

Parts were missing from when my children last used my snowblower

1. Replace the shift rod.
2. Replaced the cable for the chute lock
I didn\'t refer to any instructions when attaching these parts, it was fairly easy to figure out just by looking at the parts and the snowblower. I did have to play around with the adjustment for the cable of the chute lock to get it to work properly. After a bout 3-4 attempts (about 20 minutes in total) I was able to get it just right.
