Simply put, I replaced the damaged parts with new parts using a socket set. I suspect I will have to make the same repairs in a season or two based on the fact that so much plastic is used in the manufacture of modern day products. I did not purchase this product, it was a gift. I will continue to use ereplacement in the future.
This wingnut is an exact replacement for the part on my Craftsman snowblower. Using a pair of pliers to hold/steady the small carriage bolt from inside the discharge chute, it too seconds to put the wingnut in place. Plus, it works much better than the nut used in its place until the wingnut arrived. Very pleased.
