The blower is not throwing snow very far. What are the most likely reasons for this.
Dean For model number 536.887990 - November 21, 2022

Hi Dean, Thank you for your question. If your snowblower will not throw snow very far, there are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check the belts, the assembly chute, the and the friction disc wheel. Once you have determined the part you need, please feel free to call customer service. Replaced the chute! My snow blower is a 2005 model and I found the mounting holes on the
replacement chute were slightly off. I used a screwdriver through the holes to line up with the holes in the base and then force the bolts through the holes in the replacement chute.
If the oval holes were made longer in the replacemen t chute, this problem would not occur.

I loosened three Bolts/nuts holding the base of the chute to the turntable on the machine, using a wrench and socket. What I\'m calling the turntable is the circular piece that rotates the chute to allow directional discharge of the snow using the \"turntable\" crank. Using the socket is a little tight and hard to fit inside of the chut e. Luckily I have a \"mini\" socket set, which worked great. A pliers and wrench combination would work fine, but might take a bit longer.

Once the original chute was removed, I lined up the holes in the replacement chute to the turntable and inserted the bolts, washers and nuts. I initially left each rather loose in order to be able to make sure the chute was sitting evenly on the turntable. Then securely tightened each.

Then I removed the hardware from the original chute that allows you to adjust the angle/trajectory of the snow discharge ( two nuts, two washers, one bolt and one plastic turn knob. I installed those in the new chute, being careful not to over tighten the nut and bolt on one side in order to allow for ease of adjustment. It\'s important to make sure the bolt and nut are secure, though, so as to not lose them when operating the machine.

That\'s it. In all it took about 20 minutes, including searching for a wrench that fit. Very easy replacement.

1. Removed old chute
2. The replacement chute was not an exact match (the part had been discontinued-the snowblower is OLD), so I had to drill new holes for the bolts (the holes did not match exactly since it was not the exact part)
3 Bolted on new chute assembly

Old snowblower. All three lower chute parts were finally broken repair

Remove the four nuts & bolts from the chute & retainer rings (1/2\" socket). Remove the four nuts & bolts from chute collar (7/16\" socket). Set the outer chute retainer ring in place and reinstall the chute collar. Set the inner chute retainer ring in place and install the front retainer ring nut & bolt.

The only time I ran into an issue was that when installing the lower chute, I tried starting with the center (rearmost nut & bolt) then installed the right nut & bolt. When it came time to install the left bolt, the hole in the chute didn\'t seem to reach the bolt. When installing the chute, I recommend installing the two outermost nuts & bolts and finally, the center (rearmost) nut & bolt. Once I switched to this method, I had no problems.
