Removed deck, lifted and removed right rear wheel for access. Removed tensioner then belt.
Removed nut to spindel that broke as well as second one that I removed just to have two new ones. Replaced spindels and new belt. Connected tensioner and spring. Replaced tire and dropped mower and reattached deck.

I went ahead and replaced the oil and filter using Rotella that I\'m a fan of. Mower engine noise was reduced to new quality. Replaced and plugs, removed carb bowl and cleaned carb and jets. Adjusted carb.
The deck is tore all to heck as I\'ve abused the heck out of my TORO with a Kawasaki motor. Still great but the deck is done. Otherwise, I think it would last another 13 years.

Mower would not start replaced the battery and starter. No good. The idler fell apart and was eating my belt.
Jacked it up pulled the keeper off the clutch unplugged the clutch wire. Had to use a small screwdriver to raise the keeper clip. Took the spring off the take up idler Changed the idlers and belt. Then put the spring back on.

the drive belt broke in half. it was easy to get out but had to remove a few more parts to replace belt.

first i had to remove the wiring to the electric clutch then i had to remove the alignment guide from the clutch. then i had to remove the mower deck, after that i could install the drive belt. the next step was to reverse the process and put everything back together.
