I found this fairly easy to accomplish ... It just takes a lot of words to describe the steps and pitfalls. Good luck.
Remove snow chute > 3 large screws
Finish by removing chute ring > 1 small screw
Remove 4 bolts that secure the red shroud
Remove gas cap
Remove shroud
Replace gas cap
Remove 2 screws and mounting clips holding bottom black shroud to blower handles
Remove 1 bolt > front lower right side of black shroud
Loosen shroud ... probably not necessary to remove it
Remove bolts securing belt, pulley cover
Remove cover ... lifting off tabs at bottom
TAKE A PICTURE SHOWING BELT ROUTING, PULLEYS, TENSIONING SPRING, BRACKETS ETC !!
Remove belt
>> unscrew and replaced broken clutch cable guide ... lubricate cable channel with silicon grease
>> feed replacement cable from lower back of blower into cavity ... up and around cable guide ... connect to clutch lever
>> route cable ABOVE blower handle ... connect upper end of cable to clutch handle actuator spring
>> REFER TO YOUR PICTURE
>> replace or install new belt
Replace pulley cover
Remount lower black shroud ... 2 clips & screws and 1 bolt
<><> feed the clutch cable THROUGH the left clip ... don\'t pinch it
<><> feed the 2 chute control cables through the right clip ... don\'t pinch them
Don\'t forget the bolt at the lower right front of the black shroud.
Reverse the rest of the steps!

Removed the 3 bolts on the belt cover. Found the broken and damaged parts. Went to my owner manual for parts list and instructions on belt replacement. Order in parts from eReplacementParts.com. Had to order the parts for a newer model which was the same as my older model. The parts came in, clean up the belt area with a brush, installed the new belt, spring and spring guide. Tested the drive system, replaced the cover, repair is complete. Runs perfect. The snow blower is a 10 year old unit......

Toro snowblower blade scraper and blades worn out.

Alan from Goshen, Indiana

Tools:

Parts Used:

1. I removed the old plastic blade scraper easily with two ratchets w/sockets and unhooked springs with a long needle-nosed pliers. Installing the new part was also easy using the same tools.
2. Removing the worn out rubber blades was difficult as a couple of the torx flat-headed bolts stripped out trying to break them loose. One bolt head had to be cut free from the blade with a razor knife to enable holding it with a vice grip pliers. I would recommend purchasing some new bolts and nuts when replacing these blades.
