Started by following instructions given in manual but, found an easier way to perform job. Removed deck and pulley plates from underside of mower. Had to use snap ring pliers to remove snap ring from steering gear and remove gear. Pulled up steering wheel to get belt out past it. Installed new belt.

Old one worn out, replaced it and works again like a charm!

Removed the bolt and nut that secured the idler pulley to the steering place. Discarded the old pulley, then installed the new pulley.
