Started by following instructions given in manual but, found an easier way to perform job. Removed deck and pulley plates from underside of mower. Had to use snap ring pliers to remove snap ring from steering gear and remove gear. Pulled up steering wheel to get belt out past it. Installed new belt.

Living 75 miles from nearest repair place, and not an electrical guy, I replaced parts that were instrumental to start the mower. Trouble is I\'m 76 and have cancer which really messes with logical, sequential thinking. The problem with the starting issue was that I needed to replace the solenoid, the only part I didn\'t buy a replacement for---naturally. So I had to use a temporary, bypassing momentary switch to get the tractor to run, which it did---nicely. Having not done any of this work before, this replacing business has been an adventure. Thankfully, eReplacement people helped me through it with timely advice, and great replacement parts. They are my go-to people! Great pricing too!
