This pulley is available as an individual replacement part. It connects to the blade spindle and the belt and helps to spin the blade. It is made out of plastic and will need to be replaced if it cracks or breaks. A socket set may be required during the replacement process. This part is an OEM from Troy-Bilt for use in edgers.

6.Remove pulley from shaft.
Reverse procedure to reassemble don\'t forget the Blue Loctite on the pulley securing bolt and keeping in mind to fit the belt over the pulley and drive pulley on assembly first, and also The Idler pulley will need to be depressed while lining up the spindle plate to the spindle spacer.
Removed belt cover , removed pulley and belt, cleaned out area and cover. Installed parts. Everything went fine and the parts were the correct pieces needed. Back to work I go...... and I must say I was worried about delivery time 5-7 days. The order was here in 2 days good job team e-replacement
1. Remove screws for housing.
2. Take photos to know where they went.
3. Take photos before removing damaged parts.
4. Replace new parts place belt back from photos.
5. Remove all dirt and damaged parts.
6. Replace screws.

The pulley has flat surfaces that engage the shaft. These flats were spun round when the blade was stopped by a hidden object.

Removed all covers and replacing the pully on the shaft.
Installing the belt over the new pully.
Install all covers.
Installed all bearings.
Tightened everything correctly.
Installed edger blade and tightened the lug.
Primed and started engine ro test.
Everything fit perfectly.

The pulley was melted where the shaft went through. Never load a motorized tool to a friend who does not know how to properly run it.

1. Disassemble housing and remove old melted pulley.
2. Install new plastic pulley and reassemble housing.
3. Test unit.
Not difficult, just remember how to put back together.
