Product Description

This is a genuine manufacturer sourced replacement throttle cable that is designed for use with Troy-Bilt handheld string trimmers. Throttle cable is connected to the carburetor and it stops the engine when you shift the lever to the full choke position. It is a durable metal cable which is sold individually, please note the housing, trigger and screws are sold separately.

Removed the plastic covering from around the engine, removed the carburetor and the fuel tank to get to the tube to replace the cable. Replaced the cable, the carburetor and the tank. Reassembled.

2. Remove the old cable.
3. Attach the new cable.
4. Reassemble and test.

Replaced the upper drive shaft. Easy fix. Just replaced the complete assembly with the new replacement. The throttle cable was a little more challenging. Had to unbolt the carburetor to install the new cable. Pretty basic. Just remember how it came apart and not that bad.

1. I began by trying to pull the old cable out
2. I did not know how the cable was anchored to the chassis so instead of breaking it loose and possibly damaging the anchor point I decided to order the new cable to see what the anchor point looked like so I know how to remove the old one with my pick tool.
