This replacement power cord is a genuine manufacturer sourced component which is specially produced for use with Porter Cable sanders and polishers. The purpose of a cord is to supply power from a standard U.S. outlet to the tool, if the cord is damaged it is important to replace it before continuing to use the sander. Please note this durable rubber insulated power cord is sold individually.

Removed the back motor housing of the sander, Then removed the old cord wires and removed the cord clamp.I connected the new cord wires and the cord clamp, then screwed the back motor housing back on.

The original cord was breaking at the trailing edge of the rubber cord relief.

1. Removed a single phillips head from the back housing cover.
2. Pulled cover back along the cord.
3. Removed 2 small phillips head screws from the cord clamp to the motor body.
4. Unplugged the two wire connectors on the leads from cord to the switch assembly.
5. Pulled the rubber cord relief forward off of the r ear housing and from the old cord.
6. Installed the old cord relief on to the new cord.
7. Pulled the cord and relief assembly into the rear housing.
8. Plugged in the two leads from the new cord into the switch assembly.
9 Reinstalled the old cord clamp to the motor body.
10. Slid the back housing cover back on to the motor body and reinstalled the phillips screw.

No power to the on / off switch

1) Used an ohm meter to determine the power cord was open.
2) Removed the end cover from the polisher and removed the on / off switch
3) Removed the connectors from the switch and removed the power cord
4) Installed the new cord through the strain relief and installed the connectors to the switch
5) Installed the s witch and secured the strain relief.
6) Installed and secured the end cover

Removed the rear motor housing
Removed the cord clamp
Disconnected the the old cord wires and removed the cord
Took the cord relief off of the old cord and put it on the new cord
Connected the new cord
Installed the cord clamp
Screwed on the rear motor housing

Removed the back cover of the sander. Removed the cord clamp. Removed the cord wires from the switch, and removed the cord relief. Slid the cord relief onto the new cord. Connected the wires from the new cord to the switch. Installed cord clamp and the back cover.
