This is an authentic OEM sourced replacement momentary contact switch. It is specially designed for Homelite and Ryobi blowers and vacuums. It is the part of the tool handling on and off function of the tool. Please note, these mechanical switches have will over time wear out requiring replacement. This switch has a plastic body and it is sold individually. To replace this item no tools would be needed.

Ignition module and momentary contact switch replacement

Take your time in removing each of the screws holding the housing pieces to the motor. Each set of screwn needs to be kept together and marked so they go back to the same places. I just kept taking off piece after piece until I got to the parts needing replaced. Take it off and put on the new one then reverse the process until it is al l back together.

Took off 7 screws around the housing, disconnected the old switch, slid out old switch, connected the new switch, slid in new one, and put screws back.

1. Remove handle screws.
2. Unhook wires from switch and install new switch.
3. Replace handle as not to pinch wires, install screws and tighten.
4. Loosen clamp screw, remove bellows.
5. Remove old clamp, install new clamp, install bellows, tighten.

Kill switch did not work

1. Remove the screws from the little cover
2. Remove the screws from the big cover
3.un hook the two wires
4. Plug the wires back in to the new switch
5. Put the covers back on

1. Removed the engine cover. (4 screws - T20 Torx bit)
2. Split the throttle trigger handle. (3 screws - T25 Torx bit)
3. Removed the bad switch (unplugged two wires).
4. Installed the new switch (plugged in two wires).
5. Replaced the throttle trigger handle cover and the engine cover.
