This authentic OEM sourced replacement part is designed for use with Ryobi power heads. This trigger allows user to control the switch. It is made out of plastic and it is sold individually. To complete this repair you would need a screwdriver. • Remove screws securing the housing • Remove the old trigger (keep the springs) • Replace trigger and reassemble the power head

Repaired my Ryobi weed trimmer.
The trigger lever on my Ryobi trimmer broke. The part was easy to pick out using the parts list breakdown & pictures. The part fit perfectly. Fixed my trimmer for under $10.00. I would use eReplacementPart again for sure.

Easy repair and great customer service.
14 screws to remove and put back, but it was an easy replacement. And with the right part my Ryobi string trimmer is working great again.
That is once I got the correct part. First part I recieved did not quite fit. Not the fault of eReplacement or the part manufacturor. Turns out the replacement number given to me by HomeDepot help desk was not the one for my particular Ryobi. But I got got online and did a part search myself, and found the right one. sigh... The end result was that a $4 part cost me $20 including shipping. Opted not pay to return it as it would have cost me another $6 in shipping fees.

1. Take out battery 2. Remove eight screws. Leave the 3 at the top in the handle, tape over them so they don\'t fall out. 3. Apply tape to the lock trigger to hold it down and out of the way.
... Read more 4. Apply pressure to the spring pushing it down at the same time push the prong on the switch. 5. The trigger should lift off with little effort. 6. Replace all the items in reverse, taking time to let all set into place. 7. For my own felling, I placed a small amount of grease on the contact area of the spring and trigger.

Original switch no longer worked as variable speed. It only operated FULL speed or off.
The repair for the most part was easy.
Two items that posed a problem.
1) The screws to take apart the plastic handle are TORX, and one of them is recessed so deep my small magnetic torx bit, could not reach the screw head. I was able to remove the screw using a straight blade screwdriver but it took quite some time to get it
... Read more out and I had to file down my straight blade to get it to engage the head of the torx screw.
2) I happen to have crimp on electrical connectors so it was not an issue to make the switch wiring connections but if you are trying to use standard \"screw on\" electrical wire nuts it may be difficult to lay the wires back into the plastic cavity. There is not much room in the plastic handle for the wiring/connection lugs to lay in.
Other than those two items the repair went fine. Good as new.
Removed all screws from one side of switch and battery holder.
Removed that side screws removed from.
Replaced spring and switch that was exact fit.
Replaced screws and tested.
Nice when parts are the direct match.
Found and ordered part. Opened the trimmer handle that contained the sw, removed the broken part and put in the new part. Put the two halves back together and tested. Worked just fine. While open I added small amounts of white grease to moving parts.
Removed battery. Remove the T-15 screws on the outer case. Removed the outer case. Replaced the lock leaver and and the trigger leaver. Watch out for the springs and donGÇÖt lose them. They need to go back where they came from. Once replaced assembly is reverse of taking it apart.
Used 6-pointed star bit to remove all the screws in the upper assembly to separate into two halves. Removed broken rigger and replaced it with new one. Put both halves together and replaced the screws. 10 minutes tops. Bought extra trigger springs just in case, but didn\'t need them.
