Lock off Button Broke

You have to remove ALL of the torx screws from the Ryobi trimmer power \"head\" including those that are way down in the battery cradle. Really just no way to properly access the trigger and lock button without completely separating the casing. So that was a bit painful. I ended up using a torx 10 screwdriver because two of the shafts the screws were in down in that battery cradle were pretty deep and there was no way I was going to fit the drill head down into it and my kit didn\'t have an extender, so screwdriver it was. Swapping out the lock button was pretty easy. Just had to hold the trigger down with one hand and then pop the lock button onto the \"stem\" it sits on and then release the trigger making sure they all lined back up together. Both are spring loaded, hence having to hold the trigger down while inserting the lock button. Probably the hardest part of the whole repair was getting the dang case to line back up properly and re-seat, and then of course torquing down all of the screws again (something like 12-15 i think), but all in all, super , super easy repair. Thankful to ereplacementparts for stocking both items (I actually couldn\'t tell from the Ryobi blow-out diagram which part I needed, so I ordered both...heck, never know when I\'ll need a trigger to replace down the road anyway), at a super reasonable price and getting them to me promptly. Very happy with the entire purchase and will definitely use them again in the future if need be.

Removed screws and separated the two halves of the power unit. Removed the old lock out lever and inserted the new one, then replaced all of the screws. Some of the screws were recessed so far that they will difficult to remove. Just keep trying but note they are not philips head and take a star head screw driver..
