Product Description

?

It is a genuine item that is supplied by the original manufacturer for Shakespeare and Pflueger fishing reels. The one way clutch is an important mechanism that helps to engage the spool. Over time components may wear out or get damaged, causing the clutch to begin to fail and eventually requiring a replacement. Note, this high-quality item is sold individually. The spring was very small and difficult to handle. Occasionally it would \"spring\" away lost and hopeless to find. Used 3 springs before I was able to position it right and get it to stay. It took a lot of patience. Once I did the first one i got a lot better as I developed skill and technique for handling the spring and hooking it. ... Read more />
Replacing the clutch was relatively easy. Since I was a rookie at this I tried to remember how the parts went together, however, I still mixed the order of assembly. The schematic was very helpful.

All back together cleaned, oiled, and greased.

What I learned: I\'ll repair and clean my own reels but will not work on anyone else\'s.
