2. lift the tractor
3, Disconnect the wheel rods
4. clean the area
5. star mounting new parts
6. It is necessary to disconnect all wheel rods and arms in order to have more space and flexibility
Removed the old axle assembly and replaced it with the new one. Used a floor jack to lift it in place while the lawn tractor was on jack stands. Only took about 2 hours to repair. My 3/8 drive air ratchet I used is over 40 years old and still made easy work removing and replacing the axle assembly.
1. Jacked up front end of tractor.
2. Removed steering arm from axle
3. Removed 8 bolts holding axle assembly to chassis
4. Removed 3 nuts and carriage bolts from axle assembly to separate axle, axle braces and suspension bracket
5. Mounted axle and new suspension bracket to the axle braces.
6. Reinstalled
