I was cutting wood and noticed the engine starting to run bad. I then noticed the air filter and cover had fell off. Wood debris got sucked into the carb intake. My first immediate purchase was a new echo carb which did not fix the issue. After research, I found that there was a reed valve that the carb mounted to that was stuck open caus ing no fuel or compression. 2 strokes are way different than a 4 stroke engine. After replacing the parts with the original carb, it fired right up and idled perfectly. So easy to replace. 4 screws, fuel line connectors and throttle linkage was only thing that had to be touched.
I did replace the muffler gasket which was 2 bolts. I did this to clean the flame arresting screen. Very easy too.
