Cable that engages blades broke

Michael from Spokane, Washington

1 person found this instruction helpful.
Difficulty Level:
Easy
Total Repair Time:
15 - 30 mins
Tools:
Pliers, Socket set, Wrench set
Parts Used:
133-1998
1. Loosen screws holding the cable to the mower (2 screws).

2. Remove cable from handle (must rotate approximately 90 degrees to remove properly)

3. Unhook cable spring from underneath the mower deck (this is connected to the pulley wheel that engages the blades)

Cable should be removed at this point . Basically, reverse steps for installing the new cable. Right below the mower is a screw and flat metal piece which holds it to the deck, use this to tighten or loosen the tension on the cable.
