This is an original Presto part. This Gasket is used on many models of Presto pressure cookers and caners. This Gasket attaches onto the Lock Post (part number 85610). It is common for this part to ware out overtime and should be replaced on a regular basis to help prevent leaking. This Gasket simply slips onto the end of the Lock post. When replacing this part, it is recommended to clean the sealing surfaces.

Make sure that the model of the pressure cooker is absolutely the right one. Examine all the replacement parts the old ones and the new. Read the instructions and start removing the old parts, the writer did it manually, if need be you can use the appropriate tools. Once the new parts already in place fill the cooker with water enough to boil to produce the necessary pressure. Start the stove and try run to check for leaks. With proper installations and attention to details you will never get it wrong.
