I replaced several sleeves, vertical rocker assembly, con rod assembly. Both come with bearings and sleeves. Con rod assembly must be purchased in order to get the proper sleeve. ... Read morearrive. Took all parts with sleeves and bearings apart to check for wear, then applied Valvoline synthetic bearing grease in all bearings using Q tips. Also did the sleeves. Inserted sleeves and wiped excess grease. Lubrication from the factory will only last around a year. Valvoline synthetic grease should last at least 10 years. If your scroll saw is new, I recommend stripping it down and use the grease mentioned to keep your bearings and sleeves in new condition. Check all sleeves for scratches and indentations. Replace the ones that are bad.
I replaced the bad sleeve bearings along with the same bad bearings . When one sleeve shows bad wear the bearing should also be replaced . So I replaced all of the bad sleeves and bearings on my DeWalt 788 scroll saw . It now purrs like a kitten . I learned to do the repair from watching You Tube .
