Installed the new brush in the holder
Screwed the housing back together

Drill motor would not run

1. Removed screws and lifted drill housing off motor.
2. Unclipped brushes from mounting bracket and installed new brushes.
3. Replaced drill housing and screws.

Old brushes were worn out, so motor would fail to run properly.

1 - Remove 5 screws that secure the two motor housings together.
2 - Opened up the housing to reveal the motor and grinder gears and bearings.
3 - Lifted out the motor from the housing.
4 - used a pair of needle nose pliers to grip the ends of brush #1 on one side of motor and pulled it out from the motor slot. Repeated the same step for brush #2.
5 - Pushed the new brushes into the old motor slots.
6 - Replace motor back into housing with bearings and gears.
7 - Secured the motor housings back together again with the 5 screws.
8 - Plugged in the power cord, and the motor / grinder ran perfectly again.

Inserted brushes and re-assembled the tool. It still has the same symptoms, guess it\'s just worn out. I can\'t see anything else visibly wrong with it but it is 20 years old.

Makita Angle grinder. Removed the Philip head screws, opened the grinder. Replaced broken parts, assembled the grinder in reverse order. ThatÆs itæìdone in minutes. Awesome parts! Perfect fit.

Brush holder came loose and cause the brushes to wear badly

Disassembled the tool, removed the motor assembly, removed the brushes and holder assembly, removed the armature and cleaned and machined it in my drill press, cleaned out the housing, removed old hardend grease and reassembled with new grease, and new brushes. works great.

Removed old worn brushes and replaced with new set. A very easy fix and the replacement part was a exact fit ..grinder works great again. Very good product, thanks a bunch!!!
