Pad was worn so thin that the screws were starting to scratch the wood I was trying to sand!

Removed the 4 screws and spent most of the time cleaning the old pad off of the mounting surface to assure the new pad would adhere. Only wish I had known about the availability of ordering replacement parts long ago!

1st repair:
1. Removed (4) fine thread screws for the base unit (sand paper Hold downs )
2.Removed (2) screws for the air fan / lower bearing housing
3.Removed bearing fastener screw/ this released the bearing & fan
4. Removed (2) upper housing screws & the (2) lower housing screws
5. Separated the hous ing & removed the broken feet ( new feet ordered )
6. Installed new feet, installed the upper/ lower housing screws
7. Installed fan ( square notched ) & lower bearing & locking screw
8 Installed fan/bearing housing (2) screws
9 Installed 3 of the (4) base screws & then cross threaded the 4th
OPP\'S . ordered (1) plastic foot & (4) base screws & replacement fan
Back to Step #4
10 Installed the (1) new plastic foot
11. put the (2) housing units together ( 2 shorter screws Top )
12. Installed the New Fan
13. Installed fan/bearing housing (2) screws \" Tested motor & spun nicely \"
15. installed base /hold downs (4 ) screws \"Tested motor & Spun nicely \"
FYI : I like the \"OLD\" sand paper hold downs: VS the NEWER Style /sander

Two screws to undo. Then two nuts in top plate. I had only one striped screw and one stripped but. No vibration pad and no bottom plate. Easy fix just looking at it is self explanatory.
