This is an original OEM part. The Makita flange 53 is made of metal, and is compatible with several saw devices. This part is fastened between the hex. flange head bolt and the ring 15.8, and assists in securing the TCT saw blade. Please refer to manual and diagrams for specific instructions. This item is sold individually. A wrench and a screwdriver are helpful in making the repair.

I simply replaced the missing Flange washer, Spacer ring and LH threaded flange bolt to mount the new 12\" saw blade onto the saw. Remove spindle cap, housing, bearing, and gear.
Use press to remove spindle from bearing and gear
Use press to install new spindle in bearing and gear
Install housing assembly back in saw
Pushed the new lock into the handle. Removed the bolt to replace the flange.
