Use part number 692900 wrench behind pad, Then remove old pad by turning the pad with your hand, Install new pad in reverse order.

Turned the old pad off
Then turn the new pad on

Sander pad wore out,coming apart at the ends

Took sandpaper off pad, proceeded to unscrew pad from sander,using a open end wrench loosened so I could unscrew it by hand. Holding the pad from turning by holding the power shaft with the open end wrench. Took the new pad and hand started it to the power shaft, I then took the open end wrench to hold the shaft and tighten the pad to the shaft, and I was finished.

Hold shaft w/ thin wrench. Screw off one pad, screw on new one. Not real rocket science.

I used the wrench that was supplied with the tool. You place it behind the pad , then turn the pad off. Using the same wrench so the spindle wouldn\'t turn , I installed the new pad.

Removed the old pad by placing a wrench on the rotating part to hold it from rotating and unscrewed the pad and replaced it with new pad. Less than 15 min.
