This is a genuine OEM replacement part is made out of Plastic, it is sold individually. It is used on a variety of Engines and Motors. The purpose of it is to filter out dirt and other debris from contaminating the carburetor. It will over time become clogged and restrict the fuel getting to the carburetor so it will need to be replaced.

1. Removed Engine Air Shroud and Air Cleaner Housing.
2. Removed and Replaced Pre Air Cleaner and Air Cleaner Cartridges.
3. Removed and replaced oil and fuel filters.
4. Removed, Gapped and replaced Spark Plugs
5. Drained and added new oil.
6. Oil drain plug on Briggs & Stratton engine was a little dif ferent in that there was a cap and the drain plug acted as a valve. To drain oil you had to rotate it.

Drained the oil, removed the engine from mower, removed oil pump, split the case cleaned all the old gasket material, cleaned both halves of the case, replaced the governor assembly, installed new gaskets, put the case back together, put engine back on mower, installed clutch and pulley system, adjusted the governor, started the mower and when to mowing the yard, no issues, and ran like a brand new mower.

Drain the fuel tank
Remove the fuel lines from each side of the fuel filter and remove filter
Press the fuel line on each end of the fuel filter
Remove the bolts from the fuel pump
Remove and replace the fuel lines from the old pump to the new pump, then bolt the pump back on.
Remove the air cleaner cover, re move the old air filter, and install the new one. Replace the cover

Older female with weak strength in hands, maybe an extra set of hands might have helped. Tried dish soap several times on fuel shutoff to lube to get into fuel tank grommet, finally went to 30 weight oil. Lacking enough room to be able to push shutoff valve into grommet, used pliers to hold valve and kept pushing til it finally went it ri ght.

The problem wound up being a shorted wire
To the drive clutch. I am a mechanic, and can\'t see any way for this short harming the
coils. But the machine is functioning fine now.

Disassembled motor components carburetor, gas tank. removed front cover and polished the magnetic flywheel and spark plug coils. disassembled the carburetor and cleaned installed new flow seat. replaced all tubing and installed new fuel pump. started and adjusted fuel settings. uni t runs and charges as designed.
