This power supply cord is a genuine OEM sourced replacement part. It is specially made to supply power from a standard outlet to Makita power tools. A cracked or damaged cord should be replaced before continuing to use the tool. This rubber insulated cord is sold individually. It comes with a rubber sleeve grommet that is not sold separately.
Replacing this power supply cord you will need a screwdriver.
• Remove the housing screws
• Remove the the housing
• Disconnect the old cord wires
• Remove the old power cord
• Secure the new cord in place
• Connect the wires
• Reassemble and test the new cord

Trigger switch was defective, after 15 years of use. It was easier to get a new power cord rather than try to get the old one to work.
Split the drill body apart by removing the several screws that hold it together. Gently lift one side away from the other, leaving all the guts lying in one side. Pull the trigger assembly away from the body and pull the wires out of the trigger assembly. Use a small flat head screwdriver to release the wires from the trigger assembly.
... Read more Keep track of which wire goes where. Put the wires from the drill motor into the appropriate holes, then do the same for the new power cord, and re-install the new trigger assembly into the drill body. Fit the other half of the drill body back to the main half and make sure everything seats well, then replace the screws.
Removed 6 screws and removed the top half of drill. Removed the old cord wires from the switch, then connected the new cord wires to the switch. Slipped the new dust cover over the trigger and put it back together. Works like new. .
Remove one half of the housing, then disconnect the terminals from the switch. You may want to order the terminals because they do not come with a new cord. Attach the terminals to the new cord and connect them to the switch. Put housing together.

The friction connection between the power chord and the switch failed.
1. I examined the replacement parts.
2. The power chord supplied by your company did not include the required strain relief.
3. I modified the new power chord by cutting off the strain relief from the old chord set and installing it on the new chord set. (24 hour cure time for the epoxy used to attach the strain relief.)

5. Since no instructions were included, I contacted your customer service to obtain a schematic of my drill.
6. No schematic was available from your company, but I was given the phone number of MAKITA customer service who supplied the required documentation.
7. The compression connectors on the switch required several attempts to attach the power chord and additional internal wiring to the switch. (There was little tolerance to insert each wire into the mounting holes on the switch utilizing a jeweler\'s screw driver.)
8. I reassemble the components on the drill body including the new switch dust cover. (A slot was not provided on the dust cover to allow the rotation direction control to protrude.)
9. I then successfully tested the drill.

Saw was bought in the early nineties,and the cord and cord guard is cracked and wore out.
1. Removed screws from the saw housing.
2. Separated saw housings to expose cord connection.
3. Removed screws from switch.
4. Removed wires from switch.
5. Removed old power cord and cord guard from saw.
6. Installed new cord guard on new cord and connected wires to switch.

8. Put saw housing back together and installed screws.
Removed one half of the housing and disconnected the old cord. Cut the wires to length and attached the new receptacles. Connected the cord wires. Replace the housing half.
Simply opened up the housing and remove the terminals from the switch and field. You may want to order the the 2 terminals needed to install cord leads on the switch and field. Then make sure all the internal parts are where the belong. And screw the housing back together.
Watched and followed a u-tube video, took about a half hour to complete. Came apart easily reversed the process to re-assemble the grinder
