Hello Pat, thank you for your inquiry. There could be a few parts to look at for this issue. The Adjustment Screw part 530150000 adjusts the tension of the bar to keep the cutting chain tight. Or, you may be missing the Spring Clip part 545147001 that helps keep the chain in adjustment. We hope this helps.

Chain would not stay adjusted
