I was cutting wood and noticed the engine starting to run bad. I then noticed the air filter and cover had fell off. Wood debris got sucked into the carb intake. My first immediate purchase was a new echo carb which did not fix the issue. After research, I found that there was a reed valve that the carb mounted to that was stuck open caus ing no fuel or compression. 2 strokes are way different than a 4 stroke engine. After replacing the parts with the original carb, it fired right up and idled perfectly. So easy to replace. 4 screws, fuel line connectors and throttle linkage was only thing that had to be touched.
I did replace the muffler gasket which was 2 bolts. I did this to clean the flame arresting screen. Very easy too.

Removed the carb, replaced the intake washer, installed the choke bushing, and reinstalled the carb. Choked the Echo chain saw, pulled the cord, and it ran like new. Not a very sophisticated repair, very simple inexpensive parts, but necessary to resurrect a $300 chain saw.

Ereplacement parts ordered were an exact match to the Echo specs. A great place to shop for hard to find, quality parts.
