Main gear teeth got destroyed by the drag being too tight and large line so it just chipped the teeth away

Removed the side panel. Removed the spook and the bar then pulled out old gear slid new one in put grease worked like new

Plenty of how to videos on YouTube about Penn Battle reels. Just keep up with the order of disassembly and reassemble in the same way. There is a bearing around the pinion gear that must be oriented in the proper direction. It only spins one way and the reel will not function properly if it is put on upside down. Be sure to use a good reel grease on the key parts but do not over do it.
