Lower blade bolt came loose and stripped the star which holds the blade tight to the shaft.

Removed the mower deck from the riding lawn mower, removed the plastic cover from the deck over the shift bearing house, then removed three bolts holding the shaft and bearings to the deck. Then used the blade while using a air driven impact wrench to remove the top bolt from the shaft. Used the new shaft to mount the new bearings into th e shaft housing. The instructions mentioned using a spacer that was required but was not part of the kit or on the old set up. It should have been included in the kit. Reversed the above steps to complete the installation.

1 To change the blade I lifted up the tractor with a floor jack as far as i could get it and then chocking the rear wheels so the tractor would not roll back.
2 Then with a impact gun and socket I removed the bolts that held the blades in place.
3 Reversing the procedure first starting the retaining bolts by hand I put the new blades on the tractor and lowered the machine.
4 For the tune up I took out the spark plug using my 5/8\" long socket.
5 Reversing the procedure I first gaping the spark plug the the proper specs then putting a light coating of Never Cease on the threads of the spark plug and reinstalled the plug first starting the plug by hand so the threads do not cross and then snugging it down.
6 The air filter I just took the old one out and placed the new one in the same way.
7. The Mulching attachment simply following the direction that came with the item and using the hardware provided.

I allowed a friend to use my riding mower. No verbal info exchanged after the person used it. When I went to cut the grass, the rubber item that connected the two chute together, was broke. I went the this web site and checked the parts. My mower was purchased at a big box store, sixteen years ago, so I was guessing when I located a par t that appeared to be similar. I also ordered and additional part for the chute that connected to the mower deck. The part that was in question was an exact duplicate to the one that I needed. All that was needed, do to the fact that the part n question was an exact duplicate, was a stubby Phillips screwdriver.

I have already passed this website on to another person, and I will continue to do so. I have already added this website to my favorites I try to do much of my small repairs, so I will probably be using this site again - hopefully with the same results

Attached the mower bag assembly latches to the new bottom part of the two-part chute. I then connected the new bottom of the chute to the old top of the chute. Also replaced the gasket cover in a matter of minutes. I was pleased that what I ordered actually fit my mower.
