Product Information

Description:

This is a genuine Craftsman part for use with Lawn Mowers. The drive gear attaches on the inner side of the drive wheel. The drive gear meshes with the pinion in the drive wheel to propel the mower. The most common reason for replacing the gear is when the self-propel system will not drive one or both wheels. This part is sold individually. The tools that you will need to replace the gear is a 12mm socket and snap-ring pliers.

I ordered the wheel replacement cause the nylon gear broke. Do I need to order this too?

The most common reason for replacing the gear is when the self-propel system will not drive one or both wheels. Rear drive wheel would chatter and slip gear tooth

Removed nut from axel. Remove wheel. Remove e clip. Remove and replace the gear. Reassemble.

Parts were missing when I bought the lawnmower.

Took the wheel off.
Slipped the paw in the shaft hole.
Slipped the gear on.
Slipped the lock ring on and put the wheel back on.
