Product Description

?

This is a genuine OEM replacement part designed for use with gas trimmers/blowers. The fuel line is what delivers the fuel from the fuel tank into the carburetor. When you press the primer bulb, it will purge all the air out of the carburetor and fill its chambers with fuel. The excess fuel is then forced back into the tank through the return line. Over time these lines will become brittle and may crack, and will have to be replaced. This item is made out of rubber and it is sold individually.

Poulan Pro 5020 chain saw starving for fuel, despite adjusting the carburetor jets. Fuel hose damaged when I pulled the filter off. Hose looked deteriorated, maybe due to ethanol in the gas.

Grab the weighted fuel filter pickup in the tank with a long-nosed tool and pull it out of the tank far enough to pull off the filter from the plastic fuel tubing. If hose needs to be replaced, pull it out from the carburetor end after removing the shroud. Re-insert the new tubing from the carburetor end, pushing it through the rubber g rommet. Push the new filter on the end of the tubing (no clamp needed) and tuck into the bottom of the tank.

Trimmer wouldn\'t start as the bulb would not fill with gas. I also had to replace the fuel line as I pulled it out of the gas tank and couldn\'t get it back in.

It was really easy as replacing the filter was just removing the old and replacing with the new. I had pulled the old gas line out of the gas tank and couldn\'t get it back in but the new one I bought already had an angle cut end and it went right in. The air filter was also easy to replace.

The biggest challenge since thi s was the first time I replaced a fuel line was learning how to put a fuel line in the gas tank. After trying to put my old one back in for about 30 minutes I found the answer on google and learned the end you will insert needs to be cut at an angle so it goes into the tank.

Repair was simple. Most difficult part was replacing fuel and return lines. Cut lines at an angle, put oil on them, push through hole and grab with a pair of hemostats and pull. Not sure pliers would work. Other than that simple.
