Description:
It is an OEM item which is made for Max stick nailers. This component provides an air-tight seal for the cylinder cap. Over time the material will wear out and it may begin to crack eventually requiring a replacement to prevent air leaks. To ensure the correct installation of the new seal, refer to the specific diagrams of your model. Note, it is made of durable material and is sold as an individual component. You will need an Allen wrench to remove and resecure the cylinder cap hardware in order to perform this repair.

Question: Max Sn883rh Cylinder Cap Seal Le...

ChuckT

I have a Max Sn883rh superframer that has a leaking cylinder cap seal. The framer drives nails fine. How do I replace the cylinder cap seal. Can I just remove the cap, replace the seal. Are there other parts that will come out when I remove the cap?
WJA
Hello ChuckT,

When remove the screws holding the KN70168 Cylinder Cap. Remove the cap slowly, you may want to lay it on its side. Usually parts will come out of it. But this is a good time to look for worn parts. Take a picture of the internal parts if they don't come out and still inspect them. Then clean the surface where the KN70142 Cylinder Cap Seal is placed and you should be good to go.
