It is a genuine OEM supplied component which is specially designed for use with riding lawn mowers and garden tractors. This replacement brake assembly makes contact with the blade pulley to stop the rotating blades. Over time the brake pad may wear down eventually requiring replacement to maintain peak performance. It is a high-quality component which is made of durable metal with rubber and it is sold individually, please note the hardware to secure it is sold separately.

    mowing deck pulley Deck needed parts that were lost

    Removed Deck from Cub Cadet LTX 1045 mower.
    Assembled Brake rod to new brake assembly
    aligned Brake assembly, spacer washer onto Bolt through Deck loosely.
    Used needle nose pliers to pull spring onto pin while holding the assembly in place through the pivot bolt
    installed the brake actuator spring to deck cable bracket.
    this applied the brakes to both drive pulleys stopping the blades from turning.
    reinstalled the deck actuator cable.
    Re mounted the deck to the lawn mower

    Bearings went out of old spindle assembly

    Put the mower up on blocks, removed the blades, and removed and replaced the Spindle assembly. Before putting on the new spindle assembly, replaced the brake deck assembly. Put on new blades. Works great.

    Rebuilt mower deck

    Stripped down deck, replaced all parts, pulleys, spindles, blades, guards, guides, belt, brakes, drilled an retapped belt guard holes. All parts from ereplacementparts worked perfect. Thank you

    I had already replaced a spindle that was worn out. As it got worse the brake assembly's needed replaced along with the brake arm.

    1. Removed mower deck from lawnmower.
    2. Removed both old mower blade assemblies, both old brake pad assemblies and old blade drive belt.
    3. Installed both new mower blade assemblies, both new brake pad assemblies and new blade drive belt.
    4. Both mower blades were sharpen and balanced before they were installed on mower deck assy.
    5. Installed mower deck assy. back on lawnmower.

    I just hoisted the front of the mower in the air with a pulley system that is in the rafters of my shed. Dropped the deck to the lowest setting and pulled all the bad parts off and replaced them with new ones. I always look at the problem or take a picture before taking things apart so they go back on the right way.
