This authentic item is supplied by the original manufacturer for DeWALT random orbit sanders. It is the bottom half of the bearing retainer which is utilized to secure the armature bearing. The part is secured three screws which also attach the sanding pad. Note, the hardware is sold separately. It provides a high-quality replacement for a missing or a damaged part that was installed on a new unit. Make sure to refer to the owner's manual and the diagrams of your model for the correct installation of this component. You will need a screwdriver to perform this repair.

Removed the hook and loop pad retainer
Unscrewed the center screw for bearing
Pressed new bearing into both sides of new retainer using c clamp
Screwed bearing retainer together. Note: bearing retainer screw holes are unthreaded, you cut threads in them when you screw the screws in.
Screwed bearing back onto shaft
Put brake and pad retainer back on
Unscrewed the center screw for bearing

Screwdriver, Hammer and socket to hammer out old bearing
1: Removed sanding disk
2: Removed fan and bearing retainer
3: Hammered old bearing out of retainer ,old retainer broke during this process
4: Place new bearing in retainer making sure to line up screw holes with other half of retainer.
5: Tap retainers together making sure holes stay perfectly lined up.
6: Re assemble fan , clutch, and sanding disk
7: Continue sanding
