This manufacturer approved replacement lid-air cleaner is specially designed for use with Echo handheld lawn and garden equipment. The purpose of this cover is to secure and protect the air filter which is sold separately. Please note, this plastic item is sold individually. No tools needed to replace this cover.
We just removed the old shield with a screw driver and socket set. We opened up the top part of the trimmer shield, slid it onto the trimmer, spun it into correct position then tightened the nut. The air cleaner cover did not need any tools because they were just over hand tight. We just unscrewed the cover, put it in our recycle bin

1. Remove the pull cord assembly.
2. Remove the screw from the pull cord.
3. Remove the spring.
4. Pop the new spring in.
5. Put everything back in reverse.
