This shield assembly is an original Echo part manufactured for use with trimmers. The plastic shield is used to protect the user from flying trimmer clippings. This shield is complete, included is the bolt, and wing nut to mount the shield, and also included is the blade used to cut excess trimmer line. The shield assembly is sold individually.

We just removed the old shield with a screw driver and socket set. We opened up the top part of the trimmer shield, slid it onto the trimmer, spun it into correct position then tightened the nut. The air cleaner cover did not need any tools because they were just over hand tight. We just unscrewed the cover, put it in our recycle bin

1. Removed the wing-nut, lock washer, and bolt.
2. Fixed shield assembly on the shaft.
3. Replaced the bolt, lock washer, and wing-nut.
4. Hand tightened the wing-nut.
