Outer Spool and Eyelet Assembly w/ Retainer - 791-181457
Reel and Line Assembly - 791-181460B
Repair Difficulty:
Medium
Time Spent Repairing:
30-60 minutes
Tools Used:
Screwdriver, Pliers, Socket set, 1/2 in metal pipe push new retainer into place
Outer spool eyelet was worn to the point the line on the spool would come out at the top.
1. Removed all the parts per video on eReplacement web site, had to buy split pliers
2. Watched video to put new parts on per video and I printed the instructions. Both were excellent.
Had to buy 1/2 inch metal pipe and cut three or four inch piece off with hack saw to use to push retainer over the shaft.
3. Put it back together, all parts in a short period of time. Used it and it worked remarkably. I am happy I did it and I'm excited to have repaired it myself rather than buy a new one.
Hopefully I can keep it another 19 or 20 years.
