Piece of Cake replacement
Part showed up as promised in a couple of days. Was able to easily remove the old, broken part from the hood (had to cut a thin wire tie), connect the electric to the new part and twist it into place. Entire job took ~5 minutes

fairly easy fix -- the part is perfect
This is a recessed light fixture for a Braun range hood. It needed to be replaced because the original socket fell apart when trying to replace the bulb. That should never happen, but oh well. The main challenge was retrieving the connector through the hole in the hood. The wires were held in place by a plastic tie, which I had to cut before being able to retrieve the connector through the hole in the hood. Once that was done, it was easy to "plug in" the new fixture. The assembly is replaced by positioning it correctly and then rotating it clockwise. So far so good. It's an expensive fix at $50 but better than getting a new hood!

1. Removed stainless hood filters. Unplugged light and switch unit (no electrical required)
2. Unscrewed and removed light and switch unit from the hood.
2. Figured out how to release switch cover and light sockets (this took some tinkering)
3. Removed all sockets and switch.
4. Thoroughly cleaned 10 years of grease off stainless unit.
5. Connected all new parts. Remounted unit into hood. Plugged it in. Replaced hood filters.
