Product Description ?

This is a genuine OEM sourced replacement part designed for use on Toro lawn mowers. It is mounted to the side of the mower and it acts as a door to keep the grass under the deck. This makes your grass clippings better as mulch since the smaller clippings will decompose more quickly, releasing their nutrients into the soil. Please note a bracket and other hardware used to attach this mulch door are sold separately. This part is made out of black plastic and it is sold individually.

    Surprisingly easy repair
Received the side deflector on time and in good condition. I followed the very helpful video provided and managed to get the part on properly. It was an easy job which, for me, meant moderately difficult. I took the precaution of taking photos before beginning the project, so it helped me see how the spring should be positioned. Spring positioning was covered in the video too.

Good Quality Part but not easy to replace at all.
The part was fine but the repair took a long time due to everything being under tension by the torsion spring and it gave me a lot of trouble when I installed it. Just trying to get things together resulted in the steel mounting bracket getting bent and I had to disassemble everything ang unbend it. And then reassemble.

The part I received was wrong because I accidently ordered the wrong one. Got easy instructions to follow to return and get my refund. Have told my grandson about you and will tell others. Thanks for being there and so helpful.

    Replacement part, Toro Lawnmower
The part I received was a Side Deflector, Part Number 115-8449 for a Toro Personal Pace Lawnmower. The part received was exactly as described in the Ereplacementparts.com website. It was simple to attach, and functions as expected. Outstanding customer service, excellent communication, and really fast delivery. This should be the model all companies follow. Great work and much appreciated!

I went on line and found a similar repair and did what they did- I did easily find the part I needed on Replacement parts and got my mower going again fairly easily. At one point in the repair I had to get my wife to push in the rod while I held the spring in place but other than that I did it by myself. I was on the verge of buying a new mower- the $40 parts saved me from that. Thanks

    1. Suggest to take a picture of the installation noting the spring’s spring’s orientation in particular.
    2. Remove the 2 bolts securing the side deflector assembly to the mower base plate.
    2. The assembly consists of a u-shaped bracket, the deflector, pin and a spring.
    3. Using a straight slot screwdriver and needle-nose pliers, “coax” the pin out of it’s position.
    4. Referring to the picture, position the deflector and spring on the bracket and insert the pin. The spring must be “preloaded” a bit in order to push the pin home.
    5. Position the deflector assembly on the mower base and secure with th 2 bolts removed in step 2.
    6. Open the deflector and engage the nubs in the slots on the discharge chute, ready to mow!
