Replacing the Switch
1. Remove the upper-handle housing
Remove the three screws towards the back of the handle with a Torx #25 screwdriver bit.
Remove the four screws at the front of the handle with a Torx #20 screwdriver bit.
Separate the upper handle from the housing and set it aside.
2. Diagram the wires
Before you begin removing wires, you will want to note where each wire attaches to the switch. Draw a diagram or use your phone or a digital camera to take a picture.
3. Remove the switch
Remove the screw that secures the switch to the housing.
Now disconnect the four wires and remove the switch.
4. Install the new switch
Set the new switch into place and attach the wires using your diagram or photo as a reference.
Secure the switch with the housing screw.
5. Re-install the upper-handle housing
Set the housing into place and fasten the seven screws to finalize the repair.
