This replacement filter is specially designed for use with Shindaiwa trimmers and brushcutters. It is an authentic OEM sourced item, not an aftermarket imitation. The purpose of this filter is to prevent dust and other debris from contaminating the engine. Please note, this foam filter is sold individually. Replacing this filter is a very simple task that will only require a screwdriver. • Remove the cover screw • Remove cover and take out the old filter • Secure the new filter • Reassemble and test the unit

Removed all surrounding shroud around engine
Disconnected the throttle cable
Disconnected the straight shaft from the engine to expose the clutch and spring
Removed old clutch shoes and spring
Put new shoes and hooked up new spring to tension the shoes
Just reversed everything else to go back together

End guard broke off from years of use; spark arrestor became clogged from use; filter was due for replacement; filter housing was cracked from use

Removed old parts and cleaned entire assembly with mineral spirits and blew it off with compressed air. Then replaced all parts with new ones including new bolts, screws, washers and nuts provided. Inserted new spark arrestor in muffler. Applied new decal label where indicated. Oiled new filter and installed it in place. Machine looks and runs as good as new.

Remove the air filter cover, then remove the air filter. Before you install the new filter, place it in a plastic bag with some oil in it. Close the bag and saturate the filter with the oil. Remove the filter form the bag, and using paper towels or a rag, squeeze the excess oil out of the filter. Then install it. And install the filter co ver

Replacement of the old air filter

Remove the air filter cover, then remove the old air filter. Take the new filter and put it in a plastic bag with a little oil in it. Saturate the filter with the oil, then remove it, and squeeze all of the excess oil from the filter with a clean rag. Install the air filter and replace the filter cover
