The fuel line and filter, primer and hose assembly, and the fuel return line had deteriorated over time and were leaking fuel. I found the parts here and ordered them. When the parts arrived, I removed four screws from the rear cover on the engine, pulled off the old hoses and put the new ones on. I screwed the rear cover in place and was done in about 30 minutes or less.

On the return line I used a very thin to slip inside the hose so I could guide it to the hole in the gas tank, worked very well, it was long enough to remove from the opening in the top of the tank , the fuel line was a little trickier because the filter needs to go in from the top of the tank , and the nipple has to be forced through the opening in the bottom of the tank, I used a piece of flat iron that was narrow enough to fit through the tank top opening, I bent the end of it so it would fit over the top of the filter , about a 45 degree angle, and was able to push it in place , then put the fuel line on and the lock ring , and then pushed the other end on the nipple to the bulb, make sure the return line isn\'t in to far in the tank or the motor wont run

Removed the old line and filter by just pushing back up in the tank. I use a large needle with 15lb. fishing line and thread through the end of the fuel line then tie a knot. Run the fishing line through the hole, then I pull the fuel line with the filter already inserted in the line through the hole in the fuel tank. When the filter gets to the hole I pull on the line while pressing on the filter with a plastic pry tool until the stem of the filter is all the way through the hole. Once in place I slide the plastic washer over the fuel line and the filter stem locking it in place. Put everything back together, fill with fuel and check for leaks, then run.

Brain old fuel.
Take pictures of fuel line, primer line and return line routing.
Remove carb for access to tubing routing.
Remove all fuel lines and replace with new parts. You may need to trim off the tip of the tubing at an angle in order to get it through the appropriate holes. You may also need to slip a small wire t hrough the tubing so you can control it as you fish the tubing through the required holes.
Hook up tubing and reinstall the carb.
Oil the foam air filter and wring it out thuroughly. I like to wring it with a paper towel or rag. Install.
Add fresh, non ethanol gas if you can get it.
Start the saw and get it a little warmed up. Probably a good time to adjust the carb. Check YouTube for instructions.

I replaced the fuel line/filter first. Removing the old filter was a chore because of the tight fit of the barbs on the filter. Pushing it out with the pliers, little by little, worked well. The new fuel line/filter did not fit well into the hole, so i used a drill bit of the same size as the hole & carefully reamed out the inside of the hole by hand (the plastic fuel tank) so i could get it started through the hole. Tight working space. I used a flat screwdriver to push the filter down into place - inserted through the fuel tank opening - as well as gently pulling on the line & took some work to get it fully seated.
Replacing the air cleaner filter and spark plug were simple and quick. There were 4 torx head screws to remove the cover. The screws also have a slot for a straight-blade screwdriver, but it was worth it to get the Torx set.
Replacing the auto feed line assembly was straightforward, except there is a somewhat hidden setscrew on the inside of the shaft that must be removed. No replacement instructions came with the assembly, so I struggled with removing the old one before finding the setscrew. Once I removed it, the assembly removal and replacement was quick and easy.
The trimmer starts, runs, and doesn\'t leak.

Ryobi edger, around 15 years old. Replacing the fuel return line was fairly simple; lots of on-line youtube videos. Knowing the return line was rotted, I expected the fuel line was bad as well, so I went ahead and ordered it. Good thing as it disintegrated as I was replacing the return line. Getting the replacement line through the fuel t ank with the new filter was a lesson in patience. What I wasn\'t prepared for was the 3d fuel line, from primer to the engine. Most of that line was hidden beneath the cowl cover so I wasn\'t expecting it. Sure enough, when I finished replacing the first two, the primer line broke off. I did not have a replacement line, but, I had enough of the old fuel line to shave it down and use it as a temp fix. I know I need to replace that line and probably the plastic primer button. Lesson learned...when one line rots, plan on replacing the entire set up.
