This Switch Trigger is an Authentic OEM replacement part sourced directly from Ryobi for the use in a Power Head Trimmer. The switch trigger allows the user to have control of the speed of the tool. The amount of pressure that is applied to the trigger the more speed you get. A screwdriver will be needed to repair this part. This is made of a high-quality plastic and is sold separately.

1. Unscrewed all screws holding the trimmer housing together.
2. Pulled old trigger off of its shaft.
3. Replaced with new trigger. (Just slides off & on)
4. Screwed the housing back together.

The repair was fairly simple. I just took the trimmer motor housing apart. I took a picture of the internal parts so I would know where they went, especially the springs, removed the broken trigger and replaced with the new one. eReplacementparts.com parts diagram of my Ryobi 40 volt trimmer made identifying the right part easy. Will use again.

Broken lock switch

Remove 15 Allen screws, replace parts and reassemble. Needed one long allen for one screw in the handle (M4 x 30). All the other screws were M4 x 15. The gas trimmer only has 3 screws. Mine was the battery powered one.

Took the side off and slide the old switch off and installed the new one, really very easy, I\'ll have to say this was a great company to deal with, it was so easy I didn\'t expect to get the right part, lol great company fast shipping, easy to find my part and Identify it by the pic, thank you for saving me as its a new trimmer

Noted where the trigger and all the internal parts were
Removed the broken trigger and installed the new one
Put the housings back together
