Took apart handle where throttle is located with star shaped screwdriver and replaced broken parts.

Trimmer starter rope broke,rope holder cracked, throttle return spring totally rusted away

1. Removed throttle grips, clutch plastic outer shroud
2. Removed clutch bell, removed clutch.
3. Removed starter assembly
4. Replaced starter assembly with Ereplacement part
5. Reinstalled clutch, clutch bell, plastic shroud
6. Removed rusted out throttle spring, replaced with new Ereplacement spring
7 . Reassembled throttle grip
8.Primed trimmer with fuel, 2 pulls of rope, started right up

The shaft cable was broken and also the throttle cable broke

Replaced the upper drive shaft. Easy fix. Just replaced the complete assembly with the new replacement. The throttle cable was a little more challenging. Had to unbolt the carburetor to install the new cable. Pretty basic. Just remember how it came apart and not that bad.

Starter rope broken.

Installing the throttle spring and screw were missing parts from a basket case brought to me from a family member and was last couple of steps in the reassembly.
1. Removed throttle assembly
2. Removed the shaft and trimmer head assembly.
3. Removed the clutch outer shell
4. Removed the clutch assembly
5. Re moved the rear half of engine cover and wound new starter rope into recoil assembly
6. Reassembled in reverse order.
