This is a genuine OEM replacement part, it is sold individually. This spring is used in a number of String Trimmers and Brush Cutters. This Spring is part of the String advancing system. It is placed in between the spool and the spool housing. Over time the spring will lose its tension and will have to be replaced.

Removed bolt from line housing
Remove the line spool
Remove housing
Reverse process while using new spring and housing
Feed line through eyelets in housing and put spoil in place
Install bolt to secure parts in place

Broken Throttle Cable

Separate two halves of plastic throttle trigger assembly. Remove screw securing power head to aluminum driveshaft tube, separate head from tube. Slide rubber guard off tube. Remove pressed-in plastic cable holder. Insert new throttle cable in rubber guard, then slide guard, with cable inside it, onto tube. Reattach power head to tube. Att ach throttle cable onto carburetor. Route throttle cable into trigger assembly, reinstall screws to secure halves. Press plastic cable holder into place. Take pictures before disassembly, can be helpful at times.

Outer spool eyelet was worn to the point the line on the spool would come out at the top.

1. Removed all the parts per video on eReplacement web site, had to buy split pliers
2. Watched video to put new parts on per video and I printed the instructions. Both were excellent.
Had to buy 1/2 inch metal pipe and cut three or four inch piece off with hack saw to use to push retainer over the shaft.
3. Put it back together, all parts in a short period of time. Used it and it worked remarkably. I am happy I did it and I\'m excited to have repaired it myself rather than buy a new one.
Hopefully I can keep it another 19 or 20 years.

The filter cover wouldn\'t stay on because the filter base was broken.

2. Removed the filter base
3. Cleaned around the carburetor
4. Screwed on the new filter base
5. Replaces the filter cover

New spool and spring

Wound the string on the new spool then placed it in the housing and used the bumper nut to hold it in place.

Needed new parts

Remove the bump head (LH thread). Remove the spool and spring. Pull off the upper housing. Press the new housing on. Load spring into the spool. Thread a few inches of line thru the upper housing eyelets. Then press the spool and spring up, and screw on the bump head.
