This is a genuine replacement part manufactured for use with outdoor power equipment. Gaskets form a seal between two metal parts that are bolted together. It is recommended to replace gaskets when servicing an engine to ensure a good seal when engine it is reassembled. This gasket forms the seal between the crankcase, and cylinder, please note the gasket is sold individually.
Removed the starter cover and engine cooling cover.
Removed muffler and the carburetor and left fuel lines intact.
Removed 4 4mm allen head bolts and removed cylinder and head assembly,
Removed the old ring and cleaned the piston and ring groove.
Installed new ring being careful to line up pin with ring opening.
... Read morer />Lubricate piston and ring assembly and install head and sleeve being careful to hold the ring compressed. Do not force, it will slide in very easily.
Torque head assembly and assemble in reverse order.
Prime 6x, pull 6x, turn on ignition and start. Adjust carburetor via idle and high speed jet. The covers used 3mm screws.
1 removed piston head
2 separated crankshaft housing
3 replaced both oil seals
4 re assembled unit with new gaskets. and new piston ring
5 finished assembly of unit
6 started second pull.

For less than $100 worth of parts I have a trimmer that runs as new, vs replacing it with a $200-250 new unit. I\'m pretty handy but before the OPE course I wouldn\'t have even attempted this repair, now I have full confidence and cant wait for the next project.
