This is a genuine OEM sourced replacement part designed for use with Echo grass trimmers. The purpose of the eyelet is to let the cutting line out of the spool assembly with out damaging the part of the housing the the eyelet is installed in. It also allows the cutting line to exit the spool smoothly with out being cut. It is made out of metal and it is sold individually. No tools are needed to replace this eyelet. Simply insert into the opening of the spool housing.

Same process as loading new line.

Once head was open, added line to new spool, replaced eyelet and installed new button.

Closed head assy and I was done.

Replaced the air filter by unscrewing the cover, and gas bulb just removing the collar installed bulb and replaced collar with 2 screws. Replaced the bump button to allow me to let out more cutting line while in service cutting down weeds, all very easy to complete.
