This maintenance was pretty straight forward. Replacing air filter and spark plug was easy. Instructions come with spark plug gap number so that you can adjust the gap yourself. Replaced fuel vent, filter and primer tubes which are easy removed and replaced. Replaced fuel filter, as it\'s attached to the end of a tube inside of fuel tank. You use a 4\" wire and form a hook on the end of it in order to pull out the tube from inside the fuel tank. It has the fuel filter attached to it. Simple replace. I replaced the rubber primer bulb. It\'s attached by 4 screws to carburetor and easy to access. Just remove the screws and plate, then remove old bulb and replace with new primer bulb and reattach screws. This all took about 30 minutes. Very easy. You just need screwdriver, spark plug socket and wire cutters to cut a piece of wire with. Use a coat hanger wire or any flexible wire that you can stick inside the fuel tank.

Echo Trimmer- I broke the Guard Top and it is an old trimmer and had never been tuned up

1. Screwdriver to remove broken Guard Top and used same screw to put the new on on- 2 minutes. super easy for anyone
2. Checked gap on plug used socket to remove old one and install new one- 5 minutes
3. Undid wingnut to remove air cleaner cover and took out old air cleaner and replaced with new one- 5 minutes
4. Cha nging fuel filter was a little tricky. The fuel filter is on the end of the fuel line which sits in the bottom of the fuel tank. Pulled fuel lines out of tank by pulling out rubber grommet which is on top surface of fuel tank. Pulled old fuel filter off the end of fuel line. New filter was significantly bigger than old one and was too big for the hole that the grommet came out of. Had to replace grommet with fuel lines back in top of tank and then fish the fuel line out with needle nose pliers. Then put new filter on fuel line and was able to feed it back into the tank through the fuel filler hole. This took about 10 minutes.
5. The trimmer runs just fine- I am just a home owner but there is a reason why the professional yard guys use Echo equipment. I have an Echo Back pack blower in addition to the trimmer and both are rugged beyond belief.

Just decided to do a whole tune up with new fuel system parts, spark plug etc. Took pictures before disassembly, oiled up screws, nuts, bolt couple days ahead. Had done similar work on my echo trimmer awhile ago so familiar with parts. As I took out old parts, set on table with correct orientation. All replacement parts were same so made job easy.
