Worked as hoped for
For me no instructions were necessary. The most difficult step was removing the old damaged shaft from the plastic sheath. The old shaft had one broken winding wire that had become unwound inside the sheath causing the whole shaft to be jammed and not simple to remove. The motor end of the wire was graspable and by securing the spool end (unscrewed from the spool) in a vise I was able to pull and unwind and pull and unwind until the whole wire was straight and the sheath slid off the shaft easily. After that it was application of grease and reassembly. My string trimmer has new life.
