This is a genuine Black and Decker replacement part designed for use with string trimmers. Edge guide serves a couple of purposes. When pushed down it can be used as a guide to edge your lawn. It can also protect flowers and trees from being hit by the cutting line. If you don't need it just push back up. This item is made out of metal and it is sold individually.

1. Removed old edge guide by spreading the guide and removing from mounting holes.
2. Took the new guide and spread apart and replaced into the original mounting holes.
Easiest repair ever, simply carefully pull the edge guide wide enough to fit into the given slot...and that\'s it. The metal edge retracts back to original shape.
